A centuries-old craft tradition

Historical Stove Tiles

A traditional stove tile and ceramics workshop run by historian Dr Jacek Proszyk. Drawing on his experience as a historian, Dr Proszyk has reconstructed historical stove tiles unearthed during archaeological excavations and created faithful replicas using traditional medieval and Renaissance techniques. The workshop continues this centuries-old craft tradition, combining historical research with traditional craftsmanship to recreate the forms, patterns and character of original stove tiles.
